Description

JSM & Associates, LLC (“JSM”) is seeking a professional, skilled individual to fill the role of the company's Director of Sales & Business Development. The Director of Sales & Business Development generates and submits proposals in response to RFP, cultivates relationships with key stakeholders at targeted prospective clients, and collaborating with JAS senior team and Marketing personnel to set revenue goals, build out sales collateral, and track & forecast sales opportunities.

Compensation:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Tracking – create, implement, and maintain the sales opportunity forecasting database. Identify key characteristics & elements of each opportunity in order to give JSM the best chance for award. (e.g., of elements include DBE participation, length of contract, supported by union labor, prevailing wage, bonding & insurance requirements)
  • Market Sizing – continually update JSM database with information on industry’s outsourced contracts, the current vendor, and the annual contract value of each. Co
  • Market Research and Analysis - Capture competitor information through direct engagement with competitor’s clients through RFIs, FOIA and other information gathering techniques, securing competitor proposals, past and current service contracts, and key subcontractors.
  • Proposal Management – Proactively oversee the proposal production process such that JSM proposals are consistently robust, accurate, fully compliant, fully responsive and submitted on time.
  • Development & Continuous Improvement of Sales Collateral – Work in collaboration with JSM marketing and Sr Management to ensure the company has a comprehensive set of high-quality sales collateral including proposal section standards,
  • Cultivate Stakeholder Relationships at Targeted, Prospective Clients – Work with JSM Sr Management to identify targeted opportunities and then actively conduct outreach with prospective clients, ensuring that they are aware of JSM’s capabilities and capturing detailed information about future sales opportunities with prospective clients.
  • Weekly Sales Meeting – conduct weekly reviews with Sr Management, providing status of sales opportunities, proposal development and targeted outreach. Meetings typically conducted via TEAMS.
  • Travel – frequently, as much as 30%, typically weekdays. Ability to travel by air and ground with limited notice, attending pre-bid meetings, client cultivation meetings, industry trade events and JSM corporate events. Ability to easily and routinely fly out of a US Top 50 airport.
  • Safety and compliance training as required.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree – preference BBA.
  • Motivated - Ability to complete the role’s goals and objectives in a largely unsupervised manner.
  • Organized – Exhibit key habits of time management, information retention, and prioritization of tasks to meet due date and deadlines.
  • Multi-tasking – Ability to work on multiple assignments at the same time and deliver on-time, high quality work product each time.
  • Communicator - Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format.
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Outlook (Email, Calendar, TEAMS) and Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

Additional Requirements: 

The employee must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, a drivers’ license check and validation, a ten (10) year Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
