Description

JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) is accepting applications for a qualified and experienced Lead PBB Technician to join our team! The PBB Lead Technician is a senior-level role with varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the maintenance of the airport Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). The primary function of this position is to provide electro-mechanical operational, preventative, and emergency maintenance support. This position is on-site at the Nashville International Airport, located in Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Work with a variety of tools/hand tools safely and properly, as well as utilize any/all appropriate safety and personal protective equipment (PPE),
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks, which will include, but not be limited to, cleaning of bridges and surrounding areas, removal of debris from between conveyors, removal and replacement of conveyor covers for inspection and cleaning, and the recognition of potential issues through audial and visual inspection,
  • Monitor system operations, diagnose equipment failures, and work with management on a repair plan.
  • Perform major adjustments to ensure system functionality and reliability pertaining to both electrical and mechanical items.
  • Clear and reset baggage handling system jams in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Take temperature and speed readings of components and belting.
  • Perform full replacement, rebuilding, and adjustment of components, including but not limited to bearings, motors, reducers, rollup doors, belts (replacement and repair), belts (tensioning and tracking), photoelectric cells, and pushbuttons.
  • Perform advanced replacement, set-up, and troubleshooting of electrical components including, but not limited to: MCP components, local functional electrical switch boxes, VFD’s, ATR’s, belt shaft encoders, power and control wiring, coils, contractors, and interlocks.
  • Able to read and completely understand wiring schematics.
  • Work safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, and hot spaces.
  • Attend requested/required training, demonstrating a willingness to learn.
  • Follow and comply with any company and/or federally established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer.
  • Safety and Compliance Training as Required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Development (GED).
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience)
    • Must be able to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics.
    • Must have at least 3(+) years of mechanical work experience
    • Must have at least 3(+) years of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience with 120V, 480V, and 24V.
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Frequently lifting/moving items that may range in weight up-to 50 pounds, and occasionally up-to 100 pounds.
  • Work safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, hot spaces.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

This full-time, non-exempt position will be located on-site, at the Nashville International Airport, located in Nashville, TN. Our team works various schedules as this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. The work week will be a schedule of 40 hours in total, with the shifts scheduled for either Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday. Shift assignments are determined based on the requirements of the airport and the company, together with a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our technicians are expected to be flexible with regards to potential changes in shift assignments. All shift assignments will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug screening, a drivers' license check and validation, federal fingerprinting, and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.
