Description

We are looking for an HVAC Technician to operate, maintain and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

An HVAC Technician must be able to:

  • Performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance and basic adjustments on pre-conditioned air (PCA) units to include (Freon) servicing
  • Conducts daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning, and diagnostics of PCA mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.
  • Must use refrigerant handling equipment that has been certified by the EPA or an independent standard testing organization approved by EPA.
  • Assist in electrical and mechanical adjustments to PCA units.
  • Monitors system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely.
  • Performs preventive maintenance based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program to include, but not limited to, motors, bearings, filters, hoses, connectors, drains, thermostats.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment or machines for stock replacement and/or to restore equipment to operational status.
  • Ability to work in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management and or supervisors.
  • Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
  • Performs additional duties/assignments as may be required by management.
  • Compliance with all company safety programs, policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED),
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have a valid HVAC Universal license along with two (2) years of work experience.
  • Two (2) years of mechanical, welding, and brazing work experience preferred.
  • Must be able to undergo a 10-year background check and be able to obtain security clearance.
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license (with a clean driving record),
  • Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation), with most shifts working 10 hours/day, 4 days/week. . .and will include holidays
  • Must be able to work independently and possess strong customer service skills

Physical requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day,
  • Frequently lifting/moving items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
