Description

JSM (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) is currently seeking an enthusiastic Technical Trainer/Subject Matter Expert to educate our technicians in sound and safe BHS maintenance practices. As the Technical Trainer/SME, you will assist in developing and delivering technical training courses, both theory and practical/hands on. You will help others develop skills that will make them better professionals.

Technical trainers must be extremely knowledgeable in Baggage Handling Systems' operation and maintenance and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, we expect the Technical Trainer/SME to be a strong communicator, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. The goal is to contribute to the development of our people's technical skills so that we can meet our service commitments to our customers.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $35.00 (Dependent on Experience)
  • Paid weekly

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop technical training programs according to organizational requirements
  • Produce training schedules and course agenda
  • Determine course content according to objectives
  • Prepare training material (demonstrations, presentations, workshops, etc.)
  • Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops, etc. (in groups or individually)
  • Arrange for and conduct on-site training, when needed
  • Keep and report data on completed courses
  • Observe and evaluate results of training programs
  • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements
  • Safety and Compliance Training as Required.


Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

 

Work Experience: Proven experience as a subject matter expert for airport Baggage Handling Systems
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and Power-Point (emphasis on Power-Point)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Possess knowledge of training techniques and tools in technical subjects
  • Possess experience in building technical course content
  • Must be able to address training needs with complete courses
  • Must be able to work independently to complete assignments on time
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and be comfortable speaking to small groups
  • Possess excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Preference to a degree or certification in a relevant technical area (Electrical, PLC, etc.)

*Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Frequently lifting/moving items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Work safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, or cold/hot spaces
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close, distance, color, and peripheral, along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus


Additional Requirements:
The normal work schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday; however, occasional changes in the work schedule may occur, some nights and weekends based on operational needs at any of our locations.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, a drivers' license check and validation, federal fingerprinting, and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging.
